Teacup Tips:
First Two Weeks
When your puppy arrives to its new home make sure the surroundings are calm and cozy.
Since the puppy is in a new surrounding it may cause it some stress and needs time to adjust.
In the first two weeks we will ask you to watch your puppy’s behavior closely and make sure your puppy is doing what every healthy puppy does: eat food, drink water, play and be active and go to the bathroom regularly.
When the puppy arrives home we recommend to not let it have full access to your home. You should designate a room where it is clean and warm, and let your new puppy get used to his new home slowly. In that room, make sure the puppy has food and fresh drinking water available all the time. Offer it a comfortable cozy bed and toys.
Daily Check List
1. Puppy should eat every 3-4 hrs also don’t forgive to give Nutri-cal.
2. Puppys eyes should be alert and clean. You can use a baby wipe or a dampened paper towel to gently clean around the eyes.
3. Puppys bowel movement are nice and solid.
4. Make sure ears are clean.
5. To clean your puppy, for the next month try and avoid a full bath. Instead use a warm wet towel and wipe to clean especially around the anal area. It is very important to make sure nothing is getting stuck preventing him/her to go to the bathroom. If necessary you can clean the butt area under the sink with warm water and puppy shampoo. Make sure the puppy is completely dried afterwards.
6. Also it is good to wash its bed and all of its toys in the washing machine in hot water every few days. It keeps things nice and clean.
7. Change wee-wee pads regularly.
8. Last but not least lots of LOVE!
Feeding Schedule
Puppies at this age should eat every 3-4 hrs. Since they are so small they don’t need to each much but we must make sure they don’t miss a meal. We will give you detailed feeding instructions about the brand and preparation of the food when you pick-up your baby.
If for some reason your baby doesn’t want to eat, it is important that you will let us know right away so we can suggest on what to do. Again, if the puppy doesn’t eat, do not wait, puppies so small can get Hypoglycemia.
